’ – Back underway in the second half. No changes from either side at the break.
’ – GOAL! Nigeria 2 Mozambique 0. Nigeria surge forward on the counter and Yakubu Aiyegbeni picks out Odemwingie in the middle…goal to Nigeria!
’ – That was a lovely finish from the Nigeria no.11. His second goal has surely killed off Mozambique’s hopes…
’ – So, goals either side of half time and the Super Eagles are surely on their way to the quarterfinals.
’ – Yakubu Aiyegbeni apologises to Paito after catching the defender with a high foot
’ – Corner to Mozambique. Genito takes it short to Paito but he fails to beat the first defender with his cross.
’ – Sani Kaita barges into Dominques and Mozambique have a free kick in a central position midway inside the Nigeria half.
’ – Fanuel tries a shot from the set piece – all of 40 metres out! – and unsurprisingly it’s over the crossbar.
’ – Good strike, through he was never scoring from that range…
’ – Nigeria look confident and composed now. They almost put Peter Odemwingie in for a third but the attacker is flagged offside.
’ – Campira with a chance to cross from the right but he delays too long and a promising move comes to an end.
’ – Can Mozambique find a way back into this? They need a goal fairly soon if they are to have a chance.
’ – Corner to Mozambique and again they work it short… and again the cross doesn’t beat the first defender
’ – A promising long ball forward for the Mambas but Vincent Enyeama is quick off his line and collects easily.
’ – Yellow card: Miro goes into the book, his second caution of the tournament
’ – Simao tries to pick out Tico-Tico down Mozambique’s left but his pass goes straight out for a throw in.
’ – Dominques looks to pick out Dario Monteiro. The striker has had little in the way of decent service today
’ – No nonsense stuff from big Danny Shittu as he hammers the ball into the crowd to snuff out a Mambas attack.
’ – Mozambique really had the stuffing taken out of them by that second Nigeria goal.
’ – Their hopes of a comeback were shattered right at the start of the second half.
’ – Peter Odemwingie makes a good tackle on Paito. He’s been the obvious man of the match thus far.
’ – Dominques on the ball trying to make something happen for Mozambique but there’s no way past the green wall of defenders in front of him.
